Question: I have a racing heart for no explainable reason. I also have a really bad bruise that hurts hugely if any pressure is on it. Could that cause a blood clot and could that cause the racing heart?

Brief Answer:
It can't cause blood clot and racing heart

Detailed Answer:
Dear Mrs,

Usually bruise can be caused either by a trauma, or if your blood is thinner than it should be, or the vessel wall has a defect. It is usually painful. If it is the first time, don't worry, usually it is not dangerous and will disappear gradually. Usually there is no thrombus formation and no clot and it can't cause any palpitation.
For palpitations I would advise you have holter monitoring done, it is an examination, when 24 hour ECG is registered.

Take care
