Question: I am writing on behalf of my sister. It is more than three years that she has changed. She confess that she feels insecure while being around people and the relatives. She thinks that we want to kill her. If I as her brother hand shake with her she immediately washes her hand saying that you sprayed poison in my hand. When she goes out shoping something she carries all her food and drinks because she feels that in her absence we put Poisen in her food to kill her. She is divorced left five her kids for her husband keeping only one daughter and she lives with us (her brother, mother). Please advice me to help her. Thanks

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using healthcaremagic.
I read your question and understand your concerns.

From the available description it appears that she is suffering with psychosis as most of her symptoms can be explained on the basis of that.

The most probable diagnosis for her os schizophrenia.

I like to inform you that it can be treated with medications.

you need to visit a psychiatrist in your area or city to get her treated.

I hope this answers your question.
if you have more questions feel free to write back to me.
Thanks and regards.

Hello Doctor!
Thank you so much. A major issue with my sister is that she does not want to see any doctor or take any pills. I asked her several times to see a doctor but she rejected the idea saying I am healthy. I am so confused what to do.

Brief Answer:
This happens with many patients of same diagnosis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

I understand that she is not able to recognize her illness and fails to take medications.
First of all you need to consult a psychiatrist by any means (use of force, telling a lie, court intervention) and after that only we can think of other options.

In such patients medicines are available in depot formats which need to be administered every two to four weeks and patient develop good control of symptoms.

The second option is to administer medications without telling her, which becomes essential in few of patients.

I hope this helps you.
Thanks and regards
