Question: Hi Good Morning,
Last week midnight suddenly I suffered extreme pain in my lower right abdomen. I visited doctor and was hospitalized for two days. The Sonography test reveled there is a stone of 4.4mm in the lower right ureter & little swelling on the right kidney. At present am undertaking medication but still am feeling little pain on the right back side whenever am travelling or driving. Even am feeling some numbness in my right leg below knee for subsequent period of time. Request you to please suggest me what changes I need to incorporate to over come this present situation.

Brief Answer:
You have Obstructive Uropathy due to Rt.lower Ureteric stone

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you had pain in Rt lower abdomen and detected on ultrasound to be due to impacted stone of a size of 4.4 m in Rt lower ureter.

Please note that pain in abdomen due to stone is not due to stone Per Se.But it is due to dilatation of ureter and kidney proximal to stone resulting from obstruction of flow of urine down into bladder (Hydronephrosis).

Normally stone of a size of up to 8 mm pass down spontaneously .However it is very difficult to predict the time required to pass it down.

Continue taking medication that you are taking now and wait for stone it to pass down spontaneously.

Ensure to drink more water (4-5 liters per day). This will help to produce more urine and there by flush out the stone .

Be sure that the stone will pass down itself .Have a patience.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
