What Causes Dryness Around Nipple?

default
Posted on Wed, 25 Feb 2015
Question: I am 49 and noticed a slight change in the left breast. On the outside of the nipple I felt a bit of dryness and it is as if the outer "ring", so to speak, is a bit darker, it was originally just about 2 cm but is has spread to about 4 cm in less than a week. Should I be concerned?

Brief Answer:
Increasing dicoloration is of concern

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I understand your concerns about changes in left breast.

This discoloration of left breast at your age needs to be evaluated. This increased darkness suggest either underlying infection or possibility of a malignancy.

If possible kindly upload images on right side of your dash board.

Please see a surgeon soon and get a mammography done to assess it further. Please do not neglect it any further.

Let me know if you need any further clarifications.
Note: Hope the answers resolves your concerns, however for further guidance of skin related queries consult our Dermatologist.Click here to book a consultation
