What Causes Diarrhea, High Pulse Rate And Profuse Sweating?

default
Posted on Wed, 12 Oct 2016
Question: Hello. For the last 4 days my bowel movements have been either formless or softer than usual. Nearly diarrhea, but not quite. For two days prior to this period, I did not have any BMs. I have been taking Oxy Powder which is oxonated magnesium. The usual dosage is 4 (or more capsules). I have been taking 2 and it works well. I have not taken any since the onset of the symptoms. My pulse rate is around 100 when normally i am around 70 to 80. Shortly before starting to type this I was sweating. Not profusely, but a good sweat. As I have been typing, the sweating has stopped. I have had 3 bowel movements in the last 4 hours. Any suggestions?

Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.

What you are experiencing may be related to Magnesium use which may lead to diarrhea causing dehydration. dehydration is associated with tachycardia and sweating.

If you were my patient I would recommend as follows:
- To use tasectan
- Drink plenty of water
- Use Gatorade or other sport drinks

Hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!

Hi Dr. K. Yes, those are very good points. And I drink far too little water. However, I had stopped taking the magnesium Wednesday night, but I have been experiencing discomfit for 4 days. Should it have lasted that long?

Also, I had acupuncture today. The acupuncturist poked my abdomen, and found some sensitive spots (she believed to be the large intestine). That had me concerned. I asked if I should see my gastro, and she said see after a couple of sessions if the pain subsides. Actually, at this moment, I feel pretty good. Haven't had a BM today, though. Wait a few more days?

Thank you.

Well, looks like you are both correct. Feeling much better, but my BM this morning was a good shape, but it was made up mostly of round balls. Any way to improve it where it does not look like constipation? Also, it floats. I have read it should sink. How can I improve upon that?

Thank you.

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

Although your stool doesn't sink you shouldn't worry. This is a transitory stool and is a sign of indigestion. Within the next 2 days your stool form, shape and consistency will turn back to normality.

Moreover I would recommend to use lactulose, green tea and olive oil to speed up the stool normalisation process.

Wish you health!
