Question: Hello doctor.. Am 31yrs old.. Am having thyroid from past 15yrs.and having pcod problem. Last month doc suggested me to take Ovaa shield DS kit. And now am having delayed periods.. Is there chances of getting pregnant.. Is there any chances of delayed periods after using the kit.

Ovashield contains Clomiphene used to induce ovulation. The possible side effects include ovarian enlargement due to hyperstimulation, menorrhagia and abnormal menstrual pattern.

Delayed period is not the usual side effect. If you are sexually active during the course, you have chances of pregnancy.

You can get a HPT 3-7 days after the missed period with a fresh early morning sample of urine. Alternatively, you can get the estimation of the serum beta-hCG titres now to confirm/exclude pregnancy.

You can also get a trans-vaginal sonogram a week later to clarify the situation.
