What Causes Delayed Menstruation And Negative Pregnancy Test?
Pregnancy chances are remote.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
if you have taken the contraceptives regularly during the last cycle then you are protected against pregnancy and the delay in periods can be due to hormonal changes in the body. At day 31 it is a bit early to test for pregnancy using a urine test card. Do wait till day 33 at least and test early morning sample of urine to rule out pregnancy. You can get a blood test done tomorrow. it is more accurate and can detect the pregnancy on day 31.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.

Only a test can rule out pregnancy.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Condoms and pull out method does not give more than 90% protection. The symptoms that you have are non specific and may not be related to pregnancy. Only a test can rule out the pregnancy for sure.

May be hormonal imbalance, emotional upset
Detailed Answer:
The other reasons of delayed periods may be hormonal imbalance, emotional upset, anxiety, stress, or other medical conditions that affect the ovaries, uterus, hypothalamus, or pituitary gland. In case the test comes negative then you can consult your gynecologist and get hormonal pills prescribed to get back the periods.

We had unprotected sex on day 22-23 as I thought ovulation would be over. Do you think I could have conceived around then? Sorry doctor for so many questions but I'm so confused
Ovulation less likely after day 20 in regular cycles.
Detailed Answer:
Ovulation is difficult to predict with 100% accuracy without any blood or urine test. Chances of ovulation on day 22 or after are less but cannot be ruled out completely. Only your next periods or blood test will confirm the absence of pregnancy.
