Question: Hi my name si XXXX I am 53 years old I am overweight for the past few years I have noticed dark spots appearing on my lower legs above my ankles and my legs feeling very tired all the time. I try to elevate them as much as I can but they seem to be getting worst my cholesterol is fine and I have no sign of diabetes. Brief Answer:
Benign skin condition , do not worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same .
Now from the description, it looks like you have developed pigmented purpuric dermatosis . Now this is basically a harmless skin condition in which there is development of brown to black small coalescing four that appear around the ankles and may extend a bit upwards.
But I would like to tell you that this is basically a cosmetic problem which means that it looks bad but it is otherwise harmless in nature. Genetically only some people are predisposed to develop such lesions.
No treatment is required in most cases unless there is any associated discomfort or itching. If there is itching., then application of topical steroids is recommended.
So I would advise you not to worry about these since occur due to moving of red blood cells out of the blood vessel . There is no effective treatment to stop their progress.
