Brief Answer:
For how long have you noticed this?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I have reviewed the picture fully. For how long has this discoloration been present? It is visibly a mole and at this time, monitoring is the best thing to do. Monitoring would look at the color, size and any new symptoms. If it is increasing in size, changes color or develops new symptoms like itches, bleeding, etc., then there would be need for evaluation to make sure there is nothing more concerning going on. Other than that, there is no need for aggressive medical intervention right now unless there are some other ongoing symptoms that you have not mentioned.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Thank you for your reply. It has been there for at least a few months although it is not in a spot where I might regularly notice it (between the lower crease of scrotum and thigh area) I have a few other smaller more circular flat spots in different areas of the scrotum that look more like traditional moles. None, however, are raised. Based on the pic you think it is just a mole ? If not a mole what else would it / could it be ? I tend to worry. I have no other obvious or visible symptoms and it does not bother me in anyway just surprised to see it there. Any advice or words of thought would be helpful Thank you

Brief Answer:
Generally called macules!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this follow up information.

A flat area that has a different color from the rest of the surrounding skin is termed a macule. Most macules do not represent a disease condition but rather changes and some are more common with aging. Monitoring in the absence of other symptoms is the usual approach. If anything new should come up and warrant further attention, then and only then would we become aggressive.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to keep the discussion going if need be.
