Brief Answer:
it need follow up only

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have read your query and understand your concern.

As the cyst is stable with no change it it, it should be followed up regularly as per the protocol decided by your doctor.

These are benign cysts will very very low malignant potential. But still keep an eye on it by doing regular self breast examination apart from clinical follow up.

Regarding the nipple inversion, they both can be unrelated, as there are various other causes for the nipple inversion like periductal mastitis or duct papiloma, or even due to age related breast changes.

But, again, as both ultrasound and mamography of the breast have come normal, so there is nothing serious to worry about.

In my opinion you should continue to follow up with your doctor after a year, with regular self breast examination every 15 days to one month to looks for ant change in the cyst. If you detect any change in that or there is ant nipple discharge, show back to your doctor.

Hope i have been helpful.

Regards,
Dr. Deepika Patil.

Brief Answer:
get it removed for your peace of mind

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Biopsy will rupture the cyst. You can rather go for its excision and send it for histopathology, if you are so much concerned.

Also, ultrasound is a very good investigation for dense breast, and you have got done both usg and mamography which were normal. So i don't think that there is any further cause to worry at present, despite your family history of ca breast.

Dr. Deepika Patil
