Brief Answer:
Follow your doctors advice

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
Cold and cough is very common at this age
It is usually a viral infection.
But if your doctor has examined and prescribed novamax and maxtra it is better to continue them for identified bacterial infection ( could have been identified in ear nose or throat or chest).
Follow his advice.
Am sure your child will get better.
Also get flu vaccination done yearly to prevent repeated cold and cough episodes.
Discuss with your doctor about this next time.
Wishing your child good health and speedy recovery.
Regards
Dr Arun
