Brief Answer: Take flu vaccine every year Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for writing to health care magic. 1.Cold and cough is common in kids Upto 3 years. Their immune system is immature to handle the viruses and bacteria in the environment. But don't worry. As your daughter grows these will become less often. One way of preventing such episodes to vaccinate against flu. This flu vaccine has to be taken every year . 2. During initial days of cold , I usually don't prescribe antibiotic. Simple syrups like t minic should help . This has antihistamines and decongestants. If cold doesn't settle you may need to consult your pediatrician to assess if throat or chest is infected , in that case antibiotics may be required 3. No need to change diet repeatedly. Give usual diet which all the family eats. Make sure all of you eat together. Wishing your kid good health. Regards Dr Arun
