Question: Sir,
My wife is 37 week pregnant. She has severe itching since 8 weeks. Her SGPT is 63. Further bile acid levels are 10.9 . we are suspecting cholestasis of pregnancy. Her scan shows gallstone.Doctor has advised reception and urdoliv. Is it ok to combine these two medicines for her condition.

Brief Answer:
Can take medicine

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir, thanks for trusting health care magic.
Cholestasis of pregnancy is a common condition but needs active management especially in advanced pregnancy.
You can take both the medicines and are safe and rather important for you to take.
But ask your wife to keep a proper note of fetal movements and opt for delivery at 38 weeks of pregnancy (coming one week).
There are high chances of distress in babies of mothers with cholestasis so a proper check up every 3-4 days is of paramount importance.
All the best

Madam,
Today we met our gyno as my wife was complaining of less movement and pain in lower abdomen. Her first delivery was C section. Doctor has suggested to go for c section once again as baby is putting pressure on her previous stitches. She does not want to give pills to start pain. Kindly advice.

Brief Answer:
C section at the earliest

Detailed Answer:
Yes in my opinion also she should opt for cesarean at the earliest.
She is just 37 weeks and with cholestasis of pregnancy and previous cesarean section.
All this makes her a high risk for fetal distress during labour in case she opts for induction of labour by any method (to result in normal delivery).
So cesarean is the best option and as she has cholestasis she should get it at the earliest.
Take care
