What Causes Blood In Semen With Normal Urine Test Result?

default
Posted on Mon, 1 Dec 2014
Question: Hi
4 months ago I saw very light pink color in my semen I immediately went to a urologist who asked for urine and blood tests for blood in urine and analysis for prostate. I have done all the analysis and result came negative. He also asked for an MRI and ultra sound and I have done them all and result was good.

Now I saw the same thing in my semen after an ejaculation so what I do now?
Also I have an upset stomach and very little stomach pain does that have do with this or just this has nothing to do with the blood in the semen. I have no other symptoms.
I do not have increased frequency for urination ,urgency, burning urination etc
No painful ejaculation?
I have done semen culture and result was negative.
I have done urine culture and result was negative.
I have done urine test and there was little blood in the urine.
I have also done Ultrasound Scanning of abdomen and Pelvis and result is good.
I worried about bladder. Please let me know.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
Due to inflammation.

Detailed Answer:
Good Day and thank you for being with Healthcare Magic!

Blood in the semen is almost always caused by inflammation due to strenuous sex and frequent ejaculation. This is a self limiting disease and will go away on its own.

Bladder cancer presents with blood in the urine and bladder mass can be seen in an ultrasound 80-90% of the time.

Since you already have done the different battery of examinations and all came out negative then I would say your blood in the semen is due to inflammation.

What is your serum PSA? another differential diagnosis is prostate cancer but it is usually present in late stages of the disease. If your serum PSA is normal and rectal examination did not reveal prostate nodules then I would rule out this diagnosis already.

just drink plenty of water and consume ascorbic acid 500 mg two times a day for healing.

Brief Answer:
Ascorbic acid.

Detailed Answer:
Generally the bleeding would stop on its own with abstinence from ejaculation from 1-2 weeks. Also you may still see staining and old blood from your ejaculate even though there aren't anymore active bleeding.

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) would definitely help with the healing process 500mg two times a day.
