What Causes Black Stool After Taking Clexane?

Question: Hi I am XXXXXXX XXXXXXX My Mother inlaw 76 years old, having gallblader cancer. she have a DVT in her left leg and clexane 40 inj advised by doctors. After 6 days now she is getting tar top black colour stools and vaginal discharge, brousing of her face, swelling of her hands. Her INR and other blood tests all look fine. we stopped clexane immediately after seeing this reactions in her body. can you please suggest some medications to stop the blood motions and vaginal discharge in the blood. we stopped the clexane 2 days back and now her motion frequency came down. Now when ever we feed her some food after break fast, lunch or dinner she is getting black colour stools and also vaginal discharge of blood.

I appreciate your concerns regarding your mother in law. At this point I will suggest you to take her to emergency and get her admitted. I dont know whether you have stopped clopilet- a or not which also have to be stopped immediately as this also leads to bleeding along with clexane. Passing of blood in stool means significant bleed. She requires few tests also and accordingly transfusion of platelets or fresh frozen plasma. She may also require endoscopy and colonoscopy examination to see for the site of bleeding. She may also require blood transfusion. So admission is must.
