Question: I went off my birth control after being on them 10 years. My husband has had a vasectomy. I know that I am not pregnant. It has been 3 months since my last period. Is this normal?

Brief Answer:
Peri-menopausal age. Normal.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

You have NO chance of pregnancy. You are near Peri-menopausal age (52 yrs). It refers to the menopause transition years, a span of time both before and after the date of the final episode of flow.

Hormonal fluctuation is the main reason for NOT getting period. It is quite NORMAL at this stage. You can undergo complete hormonal profile to confirm the diagnosis.

Hope, it helps for your information. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query.

Wish your good health and take care yourself.

Regards,
Dr S Patra
