What Causes A Red Bump In The Groin Area?

default
Posted on Tue, 22 Nov 2016
Question: I noticed a red bump in my genital region about 3/4 days ago it didn't really change over that time and I started to worry it is herpes. Today I popped it and mostly blood came out but also seemed like a clear liquid as well. Some of the symptoms are a lot like herpes but on the other hand a lot of the symptoms don't match too. I also want to point out that over the last 2 weeks I have been extremely stressed out and have honestly only slept an average of 2 hours a night. On top of this I also have drank excessively every night during this period and have been doing some drugs and barely eating. Basically very unhealthy as well as unhygienic. What does this mean. The bump is now flat and just a pinkish color. Also I never had pain or ichyness

Brief Answer:
It is an abscess

Detailed Answer:
Hello,Thank you for posting your question on Health Care Magic.
The red bump which you popped out was an abscess. Dont worry the only treatment of an abscess is to open it up or to pop it up.
Since it is already done please clean up what ever discharge comes out and apply bactroban ointment on that area.
If you have fever you can start oral Augmentin otherwise it is not required.
But if your tetanus shot is due please take it.
Meanwhile for the pain you can use tab diclofenac.
Hope this helps
Best wishes
