Brief Answer:
Not an emergency.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

What you are describing is not an emergency, but if you develop a fever and worsening sore throat, then you should go in to be seen for a strep swab once the roads are clear.

The lump, if tender to touch, and happening while or shortly after a sore throat, is likely to be a lymph node that is congested from trying to clear an upper respiratory infection. It may persist for a while even after the infection clears but then should resolve.

So, no, it isn't an emergency, but yes, get checked if either you get a fever with a very sore throat, or the lump doesn't resolve.

I assume the blood spots in the sputum are related to the irritated throat, but if you are coughing it up from deep in your lungs, then do go in to be seen once the roads are clear.

Hope I have answered your query.
