What Causes A Lump On The Breast After A Fall?

default
Posted on Tue, 10 Jan 2017
Question: I had a fall 2 weeks ago & bruised my breast. Now I can feel a lump under the bruise. It wasn't there before the fall. Should I be worried or is this normal? I had a mammogram & ultrasound approx. 8 weeks ago.

Brief Answer:
body's normal response to trauma

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

This is the body's normal response to trauma.

Trauma causes the formation of fibroid/scar tissue at the site of injury. This can be in the form of a lump that can sometimes take weeks to months to improve in some persons.

It is highly unlikely to be any dangerous lesion such as cancer because that takes a very long time to develop and you recently had imaging (ultrasound and mammogram) , clearing you of any issues (if they were reported as okay).

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
