To recapitulate: Female/74 - Hard - tender - slightly swollen area - under the ear lobe ....
The possible causes are:
- Sebaceous cyst: this is least XXXXXXX attached to the skin hence can be moved with skin, may be tender if there is mild infection or inflammation.
- Lipoma: Painless and freely XXXXXXX
- Lymph node: usually deep seated and hence very less XXXXXXX tender if infected, increases and decreases in size with time.
So please check this and let me know your findings.

Also give additional details:
Since when is this present?
Any history of cold or flu?

This can further be confirmed by:
Clinical evaluation and examination by a General OR ENT Surgeon.
Ultrasonography and FNAC are the best investigations and usually give the final diagnosis.
