What Causes A Feeling Of Something Stuck Inside The Ear?

default
Posted on Wed, 29 Jun 2016
Question: An insect/ millipede crawled into my left ear 3 days ago, it came out after a minute or so without much struggle.
But since then, i have a feeling something very smaller than that insect, a particle is stuck in the ear. When i tilt my head while sleeping, i feel something sliding in that ear.
What should i do ?

Brief Answer:
time to get examined for any residual foreign bodies in ear canal..

Detailed Answer:
Hello Subham , Welcome to HCM..

I've gone through your query and understand your concern..

Now I understand how much troublesome is that feeling that you've explained and from your description, it may be some residue of the insect/millipede, some excrete/eggs of that or may be some thing else too..

To confirm , you must go to your nearest ER to get the ear checked by the specialists.. they'll check it under direct vision and remove if at all anything removable object found..

Most importantly, don't use any ear-buds/tweezers at all, yes that's right thing you've done as it can only damage the ear canal and put it further deep in to the canal..

No need to panic, just get it checked the Emergency physician/ENT as I've explained and you'll be fine, but please don't delay it any more..

Wish you good health..let me know how it goes later on..

Get Well soon..
Kind Regards

Brief Answer:
it's Saturday night dear..

Detailed Answer:
Dear Subham , welcome back..
Thanks for following up..

Now if you can go back to my previous reply, you'll find out that the first thing i advised you to go to an ER , not some clinic or Hospital-OPD which only runs in the day time and / week days..

ER of any standard hospital is open 24X7 and 365 days a year.. also I can see that your located in XXXXXXX where there's a number of hospitals available which have 24X7 ER..

Since you've already mentioned it's been 3 days, and it's saturday night , there's no point to wait till monday, don't you think .. no one can predict the future, however it doesn't appear anything serious from your description but confirmed opinion can only possible after a clinical examination..

Don't worry, ER doesn't mean life-threatening all the time, it can be time saving and prompt diagnosis along with necessary management also, plus it'll save your time and energy as well as all the anxiety within a matter of time..

Take Care
Kind Regards
