What Causes A False Positive MT Test Result While With A History Of TB?

Question: My ESR is 31,x ray report normal,but MT test shows 13mm positive.My doctor had recommended zifi cv 200 before diagnosis.I am feeling better.My doctors feels it is false positive.
I had contracted early stageTB at age of 24 which was cured fully.My age is 50.
Please suggest.I am taking an appointement with expert doctor.

1. False positive results with Mantoux skin test (Tuberculin Test) can occur due to many reasons.

2. In such cases a TB Gold (QuantiFeron) test is recommended. A TB PCR test, a Hain's test and sputum for AFB x 3 can also be done.

3. The ESR test has prognostic value and a single reading cannot be relied on.

4. These tests should settle the issue.
