What Casues Pain Under Ribs And Back When Suffering From Bladder Cancer?

Question: My father has terminal bladder cancer as well as terminal cancer of the supraglottis. In the last week his pain has spread from the bladder area up under his ribs and radiating around his back. He does not appear jaundiced. He is on Norco 10 every 5 hours. What type of metastasis if any does this new pain indicate?

I am sorry to know about your father's condition.I know from my personal experience , how painful it is.
The new symptom seems to be gradual involvement of near by organs of digestive tract , and\ or lymphatics.
You might see symptoms of gastric irritation and may be obstruction will gradually set in.
As jaundice can not be seen, liver may not have affected, but this only is symptomatic evaluation.
I advice to refer these new symptoms to his treating doctor as well,he may be of some help to you.
