I took him to the ER but they only had us there for 2 hours the doctor checked hisbhead with just his finger tips and said my baby was fine but I still can't help but worry someone please give me closure I think 2 hours in an ER for a fall is just not enough time to see if a new born is safe

Brief Answer:
Don't worry, observe him for any abnormal symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for asking on this platform

I can understand your concern.

Here I won't get overly worried if the baby is active, playful, feeding well, moving all his limbs normally and there is no history of vomiting, excessive irritability, any abnormal Jerky movement or any tightening of the body.

The most dreaded complication following fall from height is an injury to the brain or any collection of blood inside the skull. By examining the skull I assume your doctor has ruled out any abnormal collection of blood inside the skull or any raised pressure inside the skull.

In almost all cases following an injury to the brain or any internal collection of blood, there are some symptoms.

In most of the cases, the symptoms appear within the first hour of injury but sometimes may appear until 12 hours.

So don't worry and I suggest you observe the baby for any abnormal symptoms mentioned above for next 12 hours.

If you notice any abnormal symptom please consult your pediatrician immediately.
I hope this helps.

Please let me know if you have any more questions.
Regards
