What Are The Side Effects Of Taking Montek And Scor HB?

Question: Hi Doctor,

As discussed, I have done all the tests for my cough. I did PFT, Chest Ex - Ray, Ultra Sound full stomach, Every thing was fine apart from my Hemoglobin which was 10.5.
Doctor has given me the advise to take -
1) 1 pill of Montek for 15 days
2) 1 pill of Scor HB per day for 1 month
3) 2 Sachets of Wowmino per day.

Can you suggest all these medicines are good to increase the HB levels and are there any side effects or should I take any other medicines,

It's good that your all reports are normal.
Montek is having montelukast. It is good drug.
But it will give better results when taken with levocetrizine.
Combination of levocetrizine and montelukast is easily available.
Scor HB tablet is for hemoglobin. I don't know the exact contents. So can you please send me image of Scor HB tablet so that I can go through the contents.
Wowmino is mostly protein powder.
Can you also show me the picture of this sachet?

I forgot to ask 1 important thing.
Levocetrizine causes sedation. So if you are working or studying then it is better not to take levocetrizine.
There is substitute for this drug in such situation.
So please let me know
1. Are you working?
2. If yes then where do you work?
3. Is sedation acceptable in your case?

After taking levocetrizine, you will be feel sleepy and you might not concentrate in work.
There is another non sedative option is there.

Don't take levocetrizine.

I can understand your concern.
Don't take levocetrizine as this will cause sleepiness.
So instead of levocetrizine take fexofenadine.
Combination of fexofenadine and montelukast is easily available with the brand names of
1. Allegra M
2. Odimont FX
3. Telekast FX
4. Montair FX etc.
Take twice daily after some food.
So take 1 tablet after breakfast and take one at night time after dinner.
Take for 10 days.
Dietary suggestions are
1. Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep your self hydrated.
2. Avoid oily and spicy food. Avoid fatty foods.
3. Avoid large meals, instead take frequent small meals.
4. Take fruits and green salads more.
5. Warm milk with turmeric and honey is also good. At least once a day.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
