What Are The Side Effects Of Taking Glycomet And Jalra?
Question: Dear Sir
I am diabetic for last 9 years, I am under medication and taking Glycomet GP2 & Jalra 50 (Before food in morning and night) for last 5 years. Should i continue with the same tablets or to consult with doctor. Can i reduce tablet power? Is there any side effect by taking above tablets? Kindly clarify

Whatever the prescription you are following looks good.
There are rarely any significant side effects with these medicines.
One should keep in mind uncontrolled diabetes has much more complications rather than it's treatment.
But to decide adequacy of treatment, need to increase or decrease doses of current medicines or to suggest change in medicines I may suggest following evaluation -
- Complete blood count.
- Fasting & post-prandial blood sugar levels.
- HbA1c.
- Renal function test.
- Liver function test.
- Urine examination.
I may suggest to do all above evaluation and consult near by diavetologist as detailed physical examination is also important.
