Brief Answer:
from gastritis, nausea to abuse & liver failure

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

There are several mild to severe side effects related to use of benzo. Lot of them depend on the type of benzo used, comorbidities in the person and the dose and duration of benzo being used.

Some of the common adverse effects- almost all of them have : Abuse potential, can cause Over sedation, nausea, vomiting, gastritis, anxiety (and this ia actually seen in many patients), lethargy, dizziness.

Can cause hypersensitivity reaction; over dosage can lead to comatose condition.

Prolonged use can lead to liver dysfunction to liver and kidney failure.

When used along with other substance of abuse ( like alcohol or opioids etc.) or in high doses- can lead to respiratory failure and death.

It is like a two eged sword which has good benefits when taken under expert supervision but when unsupervised it can be dangerous.

Hope the reply is useful for you.
