What Are The Side Effects Of Ativan And Celexa?

default
Posted on Tue, 28 Mar 2017
Question: I am currently taking Ativan 1 mg & Celexa 20 mg. I am almost out and couldn't get in to see my doctor until April 7th. I am just wondering if I happen to run out, are there going to be any side effects I should be worried about, or should I see if she would call in just enough until I see her again in about 1 month? I normally take half of the celexa unless I just have a really bad day, but I always take a whole Ativan. I take them for anxiety & panic attacks. Also, most of the time they help me rest. Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much. Marsha C.

Brief Answer:
There can be withdrawal symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Dear Marsha,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

There is high chance of having side effects, properly termed as withdrawal effects if any of these two medicines are stopped abruptly in particular ativan. If you are using them for long time the chances are more.
The possible withdrawal symptoms are rebound anxiety, restlessness, irritability, bad dreams, muscle spams among others.

In my opinion you should look for alternative source of refiling prescription as withdrawal symptoms can be too incapacitating.

I hope this assists you.
If you have more questions I will be glad to assist you further.
