What Are The Side Effects Of Ambien?

Question: I need to find out something about ambiem. my husband takes it to help him sleep only it's not working. he has pulmonary fibrosis and RA and he can't sleep because he's always worrying. He got on line and they sad not to take another ambiem after he wakes up. He only slept about an hour.

Firstly, thanks for posting the concern.
Now, regarding the question, I think you should check the previous dose of Ambien. If the dose was 5mg, you can give another. But, for 10 mg tablets, only once in a night just before bedtime is recommended.
Ambien is nothing but Zolpidem and this newer drug has lesser side effects than previous sedative hypnotics and causes little hangover.
Now that both the medicines you mentioned can't induce sleep, I would suggest you to take him to a consultant psychiatrist. A cognitive behaviour therapy will be needed to fight anxiety. For the time being he may do yoga, or exercise, eat high fibre healthy diet and drink plenty of oral fluid.
Meditation or relaxation sessions may be helpful too.
