Very Strong Abdominal Pain (upper, My Right Quadrant) - Can't

default
Posted on Sun, 31 Mar 2019
Question: Very strong abdominal pain (upper, my right quadrant) - can't even fall asleep. (mild symptoms started Wednesday) . Started getting bad this evening, and has gotten worse - Vomiting - now, dry heaving

Ive tried Pepcid, thinking that even though I didn't have heartburn, maybe I had some acid in stomach causing pain . . . did not work. I had a single dose of pain releiver (Tylenol with Codine) left from a previous procedure . . unrelated to this pain - worked for about 30 minutes, then symptoms came back.

Brief Answer:
It could be due to Gallbladder pathology

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Liver,Gallbladder are the important organs present in the Right upper part of the Abdomen.Stones in the Gallbladder can cause pain in that area, particularly in females
So, Ultrasound abdomen has to be taken for a clue
If the report is not clear, then CT scan of the Abdomen has to be taken .If ,it is normal, then Upper GI endoscopy has to be done to exclude Acid peptic disease.
Please consult your doctor and proceed further.
Till investigations, you can take Antispasmodic tablet containing Dicyclomine and Proton pump inhibitor like Rabeprazole.
Nothing to worry.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions,I will clarify further.
Wish you good health
