Brief Answer:
Recurrence of Fungal infection possibly

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for trusting us with your health-related questions.

I understand your concern. It seems like you have thrush, or candidiasis, a fungal vaginal infection. Vaginal thrush may be caused by an overgrowth of yeasts which normally live in the bowel, skin, mouth or vagina due to use of antibiotics, decreased immunity, hormonal changes, diabetes etc.

It is treated with an antifungal antibiotic such as Miconazole 2% cream, inserted vaginally twice per day for 7 days, or Miconazole 200 mg vaginal suppositories for three days. Alternatively, may use Clotrimazole 100 mg tablets for 3 days. If you have already used one of these and haven't had any results, please get back to me so I can advise you further.

You can prevent thrush by drying your intimate areas properly, using cotton underwear, taking probiotics after a course of antibiotics along with keeping the blood sugar under control (if already elevated).

I hope this answers your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.

Brief Answer:
Most anti fungal creams are found over the counter

Detailed Answer:
Yes, most anti thrush creams can be found over the counter and you do not need a doctor's prescription to buy one.
Some brands that are quite effective are: 1. Taro Clotrimazole 7 Vaginal Cream, 2. Vagistat-3, 3.Monistat 1-Day Maximum Strength.

You may also consult with a pharmacist for advice on the best alternative for you.

I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
