Suggest Ways To Reduce The Dosage Of Esomeprazole
Question: If I reduce my dosage of esomeprazole; can I do it this way ?
cut the 20mg pink pill in two;
then I get two pills with 10mg
or cutting it into 4 pices;
getting 4 pills with 5mg ?
in our country, the lowest dosage is 20mg pills.
I want to be able to control my symptoms and getting down to the lowest possible dosage.

Esomeprazole is not a drug, that needs to be tapered off and stop.
Moreover, 20 mg is the minimum dosage required for actual acid suppression.
So, i would not recommend you to cut down the tablets.
Now, as far as your query is concerned, you need to check, whether the tablet provided to you is a SCORE tablet or not.
If you can see a mark of cut in between the tablet, then this is a score tablet and can be cut down into half.
But now a days, cutting down a tablet into 4 pieces is not recommended and no tablet comes in form of SCORE tablet, that can be divided into 4 pieces.
If you do this on a tablet that is not SCORE, then the efficacy of the tablet may reduce. Otherwise, it is not going to harm you.
