Brief Answer:
the test is non-specific

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

I have gone through the attached reports. You should know that ESR is a very non-specific test. It does not specify to any infection or inflammation.

One cause for your raised ESR could be the positive typhoid test. Your report says + for salmonella typhi H and O. That means you may be having typhoid.

I suggest you to repeat the widal test and ESR test after a week, and look for the values again. If it is still high, then you would require treatment for Typhoid.

Meanwhile, take bland diet. Avoid spicy and high fatty food. Avoid meat for a while including egg. Take more of vegetables and fruits.

Let me know if you have more queries.

Brief Answer:
it could be typhoid itself

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

It could be the typhoid that is causing this symptom.

It would be better to take treatment for the same. I usually prescribe my patients a course of Ciplox along with metrogyl for a period of 5 days.

Please consult your doctor and get the medicines prescribed.

Get well soon.
