Brief Answer:
yes, there is a link

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Purines are broken down to form uric acid and an increase in uric acid can result in an acute attack of gout.

Food with a high level of purine cause a acute gout attack in this way , steak ,as you mentioned is one of these foods.

In terms of the high cholesterol and triglycerides and gout, there has been found to be an association between these factors. In fact there is ongoing research in this area.
High LDL ('bad' cholesterol), triglycerides, total cholesterol have been found to be associated with high uric acid levels

Blood levels of uric acid have been found to be stronger predictor of stroke, heart disease.

The exact nature of the link is still being researched

Treatment of acute attack: (1) the meds that you are currently using are recommended- NSAIDs and colchicine

To be effective colchicine needs to be taken by 36 hours after symptoms start

If the advil is not working for you , you should try an alternative from this family of medication eg naproxen, cataflam, ketoprofen

(2)if the NSAIDs and colchicine are not enough then steroids can be injected into the joint space

(3)the levels of the uric acid itself are not addressed in an acute attack

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
