Question: WHAT CAN I DO TO RAISE MY TESTERONE LEVEL

Answered by Dr. Shehzad Topiwala (1 hour later)
Brief Answer:
Testosterone

Detailed Answer:

If your testosterone levels are not significantly low, and you were offered testosterone treatment for the entity of 'age related hypogonadism (low testosterone related medical condition)' then this is a subject of controversy. Science is yet to be sure if this practice is justified and if it is safe in the longterm.

The FDA has persistently been asking the scientific community to embark upon an extensive long term study to answer this question.

Reports have been published until now with contradictory views with regards to risk and benefit, especially from heart related perspective.

So the matter is still being debated.

You will be best served by seeing an endocrinologist in person (who will have the opportunity to examine you thoroughly and order tests) to see if

a) yo truly have a low testosterone problem

b) If so, what is the cause for it

Treatment with testosterone has been found to be beneficial in those with well established causes of 'hypogonadism'
