Brief Answer:
"Polymorphous light eruptions" ( PMLE): Sun protection and no scratching.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome again and thanks a lot for posting your picture of the affected area.

After analyzing the picture along with your problem thoroughly, I can make out the condition of known as "Polymorphous light eruptions".

Let me explain you the complete situation- Our human skin is a multilayered structure and it has tendency to wear and tear repeatedly on exposure to environmental factors.

In certain situations when the exposure of the environmental factor is too high, then the skin has the tendency to get red and itchy. In uir case it appears to be related to sun exposure. These red areas appear as mild to moderate eruptions on exposed areas of body which are known as "Polymorphous light eruptions" ( PMLE).

You can see in your picture on high resolution that there are raised dots in each area of redness. You try and recapitulate if you had spent time in sun with exposure to this area yesterday.

It is quite simple condition and can be managed easily.

For the prevention and betterment kindly follow the suggestions below:

-Do not expose yourself to direct sunlight.

-Wear full sleeves cotton clothes covering this area of redness. The affected area should not be exposed to sunlight.

- stay away from hot and humid climate.

- Do not scratch any skin lesion or even try to touch unnecessarily.

-You can do cold water compresses to reduce the intensity of itching.

-Do not scratch or rub the skin as it can lead to further aggravation.

In my patients I suggest them to apply Hydrocortisone or Fluticasone cream at the affected areas.

For itching I suggest to take oral anti histamine like Desloratadine (Tablet Claritin)for 2 times or three times also if the itching is high. The tablet can be reduced to 1-2 in 72 hours if the itching is reduced.

Despite above measures if the problem is not getting better then it is better to consult a dermatologist for best guidance.

Hope this information will help you. I will be glad to guide you any further.
