Brief Answer:
Probably not from smoking withdrawal, will need more information.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Thanks for writing to us.

I can understand your situation. You did not provide details about your physical problems and medicines. At the age of 71 it is really difficult to face such problems.
If you have stopped smoking before 9 weeks ago and current problems are since two weeks only, there is no chance of smoking withdrawal.

Your situation may be due to worsening of your problems for which you are taking medicines currently. But for exact comments I need to know your detail history. You can ask your treating doctor for evaluation for the same.

Your symptoms of decrease appetite, tiredness and lack of interest are suggestive of depression. For diagnosis of depression, detail history and mental status examination required by a psychiatrist. So you should consult a psychiatrist with all your case records and medicines.

Hope I have answered your query. I will be happy to answer if more queries are there(In that case please provide all medical details )

Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.
