Suggest Treatment For Viatmin D Deficiency

default
Posted on Mon, 21 Sep 2015
Question: Hello Doctor,

I recently conducted comprehensive blood test for me, where I was diagnosed of having viatmin D deficiency. My Vitamin D levels were around 7.5 ng/ml which is very low as against the normal levels. I have started taking the Lumia 60k (Cholecalciferole tablets - Vitamin D3) tables with a frequency of once in a week.

Please can you suggest if I am on a right track and I feel lot of pain in my legs muscles. At the same time, I feel drained out in many instances.

Also what sorts of fruits and vegetables I should take to cure that?

Kind Regards

Brief Answer:
You are taking right supplements.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
I have seen the attached reports. Your vitamin D3 levels are low due to which you are facing all these symptoms.
You are taking the right supplements but it will take 4-6 weeks to show an improvement. Do continue taking the supplements for at least 3 months and then get the blood test repeated to see if the levels have improved. Regular exercise and exposure to sun will also help. Do increase the intake of egg, milk and milk products.
Also eat magnesium rich foods like bananas, beans, chickpeas, fish, nuts, soybeans, spinach etc which are natural sources of magnesium. It will help in decreasing the muscle related pains.
I hope this answers your query.
