Question: Hi, I seem to have urinary tract infection, however, the frequency of urination keeps changing during the day. In the morning, I have to go frequently, in the afternoons I normally feel fine, then it becomes bad again in the evening. When I do go to pass urine in the mornings and evenings, sometimes there are only 2 or 3 drops that pass.

Brief Answer: Yes, you seem to have urinary tract infection Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for consulting HealthcareMagic! Yes, you seem to have urinary tract infection. And this is very common in females of your age group. If confirmed, it can be easily treated with antibiotics. However, a Physical examination is mandatory to assess this since there are variety of other causes that needs to be ruled out. Anyhow, I suggest you to undergo complete urine examination with culture and sensitivity. Meantime, I suggest to drink more amount of water provided you do not have any medical conditions contraindicating in doing so. Hope I have answered your query. I have already started antibiotic treatment today (Zanocin 400) based on another doctor's advice. He also advised me to get the tests and culture done, but I did not have time today. If I go after two days for the tests, would the antibiotics ruin the chances of getting a true result? Should I stop the antibiotics until I go through the tests?

Brief Answer: Refer below Detailed Answer: Hi, Your doctor would have started Zanocin which contains Ofloxacin empirically suspecting infection. That is a good approach. Please do not stop the antibiotic and use as suggested by your doctor as he did physical examination. If the infection is cleared with antibiotic, your investigation result comes normal, otherwise we might suspect resistance to this antibiotic and can start sensitive antibiotic based in the results.
