Question: Hello Dr xxxxxx my left ear has a constant ringing sound that has not stop should i go to the emergency room?

Yes seek an appointment if not disturbing your daily life

Hi,

We call this as tinnitus. There is no over the counter medication to stop tinnitus.
If you can get early appointment with ENT surgeon you can better meet him than going to ER as physicians at ER have no clue how to stop ringing sound immediately.
If it is bothering your daily routine severely you can go to ER who can call an ENT surgeon to ER (on call) to treat it. This happens at big ERs.
