Suggest Treatment For Tinnitus

Question: I heard a loud noise in my head this morning, like a truck horn. It was instantaneous, but it startled me. Nothing since and seemingly, no "after effects." I am quite stressed out now. This has happened before, with other noises. Do I have a tumor?

Brief Answer:
tinnitus for evaluation with vascular etiology

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
thanks for your query.

In my opinion, you might be having tinnitus of vascular etiology. In this there is sudden and loud sound heard. As far as my knowledge holds, brain tumour or ear tumour do not produce sudden loud sounds. They produce slow, dull, low intensity progressive sounds existing from long time. This needs clinical evaluation and treatment. I would suggest you to consult with the doctor and get evaluated. There is no over the counter drugs for this unless cause is confirmed. You can try betahistine 24 mg daily once.

Hope my answers have helped you.

Thanks.
