Question: My husband has been experiencing pain, swelling, tingling in his right foot. It started in the big toe but
has moved to the other toes. He has sharp pains, redness. If he props his foot up the redness goes away but it turns red again when he puts it down. This has been going on for over a month. Has trouble sleeping from the pain and the toes seem somewhat atrophied. He wants to know how to get rid of the inflammation in his foot.

Brief Answer:
A correct diagnosis is necessary first.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

First, is necessary to get a correct diagnosis of the condition, before evaluation of the treatment ways.

Most likely there is a vascular condition of the affected foot, such deep veins thrombosis, peripheral arteries disease, that is causing those symptoms.

It is necessary to get evaluated with Doppler ultrasound and by blood tests (sedimentation rate, complete blood count etc.) in order to achieve a correct diagnosis.

Discuss with your primary care Doctor about these issues.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.
