Brief Answer:
May or may not be related to sun burn

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Please provide more details about your symptoms. Where exactly is the pain? Is it in skin or is deep in the muscles? What have you tried till now? If there is skin rash, please upload a photo of the lesion.

In my opinion it could be something related to sun burn, that is it can be dehydration of the calf muscles. This leads to spasm of the muscles and when there is movement of the muscle or walk it causes intense pain. So you can opt to rehydrate with available ORS. You can prepare it at home with a dash of lemon, pinch of salt and Tsp of sugar in a glass of plain water. At frequency of 5 times a day before 5 PM for a day should quench the dehydration experience.

Being a 64 yr old male you should also be aware of frequent mineral deficiency at this age. Calcium, Magnesium, Selenium all cause muscle aches. You should check it out for with the local GP.

Let me if I can still be of any help to you.

The pain has now almost gone, The only irritation now is itching and peeling skin.
I believe you got it right, dehydration of the calf muscles, as it felt like some one had beaten my calfs with a cricket bat. Thanks very much.
(Looking in the medical book I though I had deep vein thromboses)

Brief Answer:
Moisturize the skin

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Quickly moisturize the skin with any thing that you have at home. Please do not scratch it. The germs can penetrate the skin(barrier) and cause more problems.

Good to know that you are getting better but continue the therapy as advised. It is always better to speak to a listening doctor than reading over a static page.
