Brief Answer:
upper respiratory tract infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Welcome to health care magic,

The symptoms that you described are suggestive of upper respiratory tract infection with post nasal drip which could be due to bacterial or viral infection.

You might have your pharynx inflamed by this kind infection.

1) You should take pain killers and antihistamines available over the counter.

2) Antibiotics (levofloxacin or azithromycin) could be helpful but you will need doctor's prescription for that.

3) Take steam inhalation (no need to add vicks or anything to the water, plain steam is better).

4) Blow your nose and bring out the mucous.

5)Warm water gargling is also necessary.

I hope you will get better in 3 to 4 days and in case not or if symptoms worsen, visit your ENT specialist who will examine you thoroughly and start appropriate treatment.

Brief Answer:
could be a chronic infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for the follow-up.

If the problem is having since many years then it could be chronic infection or repeated infection for which you should see ENT specialist to rule out chronic infection by clinical examination and various tests.

However, the medical treatment remains more or less same but the important thing is to diagnose it properly.
