Brief Answer:
Possibly due to ENT cause

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. I do not think that the problem lies in the external environment. Possibly the problem is in her sense of smell. In other words it is likely to be due to an aberration in her sense of smell. Technically it is known as parosmia. It could be due to a local pathology like nasal polyp or due to neurological causes like Vitamin B12 deficiency. It needs a thorough clinical evaluation. I would insist you to take her for an ENT checkup. She can also try taking Methylcobalamine (or vitamin B12) supplement 1500 mcg per day for a few weeks and see if that helps. Steam inhalation is also likely to be helpful.
