Posted on Sat, 9 Sep 2017
Question: hi, when ever I used to sneeze or cough, I felt pressure on my bladder for last two years.I used to feel urge to urinate from last one year but urine leak rarely. Since last month, I'm having urine leak in tiny amounts and feeling the urge to urinate little more than usual. Used to urinate like twice a day but now I am doing like four to six times. When I have coffee or soda, this urge increases. Also my stomach is bloating even when I eat very less or even when I don't eat anything. When I release the gas, the urge to urinate goes away. I do not have diabetes or blood pressure or obesity or any other diseases. I exercise 4-5 times a week like pushups but nothing like gym style heavy weights. I also had blood test, urine test as part of regular checkup less than 6 months ago and everything is normal . So, its mainly stomach bloating, flatulence, urge to urinate are the symptoms. Please suggest the next steps and over the counter drugs to control this.

Brief Answer:
You have over Active Bladder Syndrome.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have what is called as Over Active Bladder Syndrome .

Normally one gets sensation to pass urine when b;adder getss filled up with 300 ml of urine but in OAB syndrome there are involuntary contractions of bladder even when it is filled up with small quantity of urine causing urge to pass urine and frequency for urination .

Take anti -muscuranic drug like Darifenacin once daily This will help to reduce urge to pass urine .

As regards pain in stomach and flatulence it is mostly due to Gastritis .

Taking H2 receptor antagonist like Pantaprozole twice daily will relieve symptoms like pain and dyspepsia .

Avoid spicy food and aerated beverages and coffee which stimulate acid secretion by gastric mucosa.

Take 4-5 small meals instead of two full meals

Include more milk ,butter milk and curd in your diet .These are known to have natural antacid action .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions,I shall be happy to help you
