Suggest Treatment For Strep Throat With Chest Congestion

default
Posted on Fri, 10 Jun 2016
Question: In early February I had strep throat along with lung congestion. Medication took care of the strep but I have battling the congestion since that time. I am blowing my nose constantly from the mucous drainage and I am growing weary of not being able to smell or taste any foods. I wake up in the morning with a sore throat that goes away within a hour of rising. I have no history of allergies. I am open to seeing a medical specialist if warranted.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
Most probably you may be suffering from the rhinosinusitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
I have gone through your question and understand your worry and concern; and it suggests that most probably you may be suffering from the rhinosinusitis.

If I were your treating doctor then I would like to prescribe
1. Netiwash/Nasowash Nasal wash once a day.
2. Systemic and nasal decongestant such as pseudoephedrine and xylometazoline respectively.
3. Steam inhalation twice a day for at least five minute.

But to rule out other disease and to reach the near diagnosis you may go for CT scan PNS.

You will have to discuss these steps with your ENT doctor for better management.
