Suggest Treatment For Stomach Ache And Inconsistent Bowel Movement

default
Posted on Mon, 23 Feb 2015
Question: For the last month I have been awaken relatively early in the morning (4-5 AM) by a stomach ache that usually leads to either diarrhea or constipation. It's almost always one or the other. After the bowel movement, my stomach ache turns into a more dull piercing pain. My stomach begins to feel as if it's ridiculously empty but when I eat I begin to feel nauseas, which usually leads to vomiting and dry heaving. This continues usually for 2 hours or so. Or until I can fall back asleep. During the rest of the day I don't seem to have many problems besides eating making me nauseas.

Brief Answer:
Need some help from you sir/ma'am

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir/ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I would like to present two sets of symptoms and would like you to tell me which set of symptoms match your presentation more accurately. They are:

Set A:

+Burning abdominal pain (anywhere from navel up until your breastbone)
+More at night
+Vomiting (sometimes appearing red or black)
+Nausea
+Pain increases when your stomach is empty
+Changes in appetite
+Pain can disappear for a few days or weeks and then reappear
+Unexplained weight loss
+Pain can be relieved at times by eating certain foods (usually that help reduce stomach cid level)
+Changes in bowel habits (at times stool can appear dark brown, red or black)

Set B:
+Frequent abdominal bloating (usually after eating certain types of foods called triggering factors)
+Lots of gas in abdomen and also passed
+Bloated feeling
+Diarrhea or constipation (usually almost immediately after eating 'triggering factors')
+Mucus in stool
+Abdominal pain that is more at night
+Weight loss
+Bleeding from the anus (rare)

I look forward to hearing from you in order to help you further. If at all you feel that either one of these scenarios does not match your presentation as well, then please write back to me with all the symptoms that you have experienced and are experiencing, so I can make sense of them.

Best wishes.
