Suggest Treatment For Sores On Left Side Of Lower Lip
Question: hi, i am 65 yrs. old male, named XXXXXXX i'm having sores on the left side of my lower lip. blood tests rule out herpes or hiv. it starts out as a pimple and turns into pus burning fluid; if treated with neosporin in a week or so it will have a hard hard plack over sore. its very difficult to make it go away... sometimes i,ll take a razor blade and slice it off and then it will heal as a cut. help, THANKS, XXXXXXX

Based on the images that you uploaded and your description, it appears to be a viral exanthema which would take some time to resolve. Try not to use the razor etc for the lesions. If you were my patient , I would start you empirically on augmentine or ampiclox for a week to cover for staphylococcal primary or secondary infection. Oral antihistamine such as Levocetirizine and topical Neosporin should also continue, in consultation with a dermatologist. You may discuss these options with your doctor to reach a final conclusion.
