Suggest Treatment For Soreness And Swelling In The Right Breast

default
Posted on Thu, 17 Nov 2016
Question: I started having soreness and swelling in my right breast in the last few days. I am 50 y/o- female, had an ablation thee years ago, right ovary removed 2 years ago because of cysts. I still have all the symptoms of having a period or PMS, I just don't have the bleeding. This issue with my breast is a first. I can't detect any lumps or solid areas. It's just very sore and swollen. It feels like when I breast fed and my milk came in but there was a blockage. Very strange.

Brief Answer:
You should be investigated.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
At the age of 50,you should be investigated.
But,as per your description, it looks like inflammatory condition of the breast.
I prefer a Mammography of the Right breast and look for any suspicious lesion. If there is no lesion, then anti inflammatory tablet will give relief.
Please consult a Breast surgeon/General surgeon, get examined clinically and proceed accordingly.
Nothing to worry.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
